MANUFACTURING COORDINATOR

OVERVIEW

AHLOT is looking for a Manufacturing Coordinator (Junior) to join the rocketship and contribute to the success of our rapidly growing Storage/Accessories Product division.

 

Working closely with the Industrial Design, Project Management and Operations teams, the Manufacturing Coordinator will work on all aspects of AHLOT products from the time they are delivered from the Industrial Design team (ready for manufacturing), until they reach the hands of the end user - and beyond. The Manufacturing Coordinator will actively be taking part in managing product design projects to completion in a timely, capital-efficient and customer-centric manner.

 

Reporting into the Head of Industrial Design & Development, the Manufacturing Coordinator will impact:

 

MANUFACTURER + RAW MATERIALS + HARDWARE SOURCING

With CAD files, renderings, and BOM (Bill of Materials) provided by the ID team,  responsibilities will include sourcing appropriate manufacturer(s) for all required components of the product. This includes:

  • Discussing programs with existing manufacturers / suppliers

  • Sourcing new manufacturers /suppliers using any/all channels (on/offline), local and/or offshore
     

 

MANUFACTURER VETTING/AWARDING

Participation in the creation and distribution of RFQs, and the analysis of quotes received for the production of all parts and products.

 

ADDITIONAL OBLIGATIONS

  • Local + overseas travel may be required from time-to-time

  • Be prepared to jump into an unrelated task, with no previous experience or exposure

  • Participate in weekly project goal/accomplishment meetings and ensure project teams are working towards deadlines

  • Work directly with Logistics Partner to ensure inventory is properly received, managed, adequately kept

  • Track, measure and report key metrics on multiple projects including timelines, prioritizations, risks, velocity, and budget

SKILLS + REQUIREMENTS

  • Strong passion for new product development and/or industrial design

  • Experience managing new product development is an asset

  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to work in a fluid and fast-paced environment.

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build, foster and lead internal and external client / supplier relationships.

  • Ability to find the best approach or solution to highly diverse challenges
